Can you translate the Mass for me?

05 May 2017

20 March 2017
[…] Fr. Ignazio Buffa wrote me an e-mail informing me that the first year novices came up with the idea to celebrate Mass in English once a week.
He wrote to me, that they made this choice in light of the new province which will comprise the provinces of Italy-Albania and Malta. He told me that he had asked the novices to prepare for him an „interlinear” Mass with the liturgy in English and Italian, including audio version.
It’s nice to see how young people in formation and fathers are preparing for the birth of the new province. It’s wonderful to witness the desire of two different realities encountering one another.

2 May 2017
It is 23:30 and I just entered the room after the community vision of the film “Into the wild”. This was a day full of emotions. I try to re-live them again, reviewing the various events of the day: the Mass, community services, Greek lesson…
The two main events that come back to mind are: the morning Mass and the film.
Unavoidably these two episodes remind me of the pilgrimage in poverty that I did with Edi, at the end of which we participated at an English Mass, with a group of young persons.
The film’s main character understands that the search of the Truth, of Freedom and of True Life is best lived encountering other persons. It’s impossible to imagine living a life without contacts and human relationships.
I think that this is the path the Society of Jesus is undertaking daily. Every day it is in touch with the people, searching the True Life.
I believe that this is our desire as novices, that is, an ideal of walking towards the way of encounter and being in relationship with others, and this not only is true for us but also the way of proceeding of the Society of Jesus.
I go to sleep feeling glad that I am part of a body (the Society of Jesus) eager to be in relation, a Society that searches the Lord in the daily encounters in the university chapels, colleges, seminaries and voluntary work amongst other things.
